That’s right, folks. I submitted a short story to a (very nice-looking) market. I have no idea if it’ll make the cut or not. Writing non-fiction helped me a little in narrowing possibilities, but fiction is still a pretty subjective thing.
Anyway, it feels a little odd posting something like this after all the posts I’ve done on self-publishing. Which, by the way, I’m still doing. I just feel this is a better way to build an audience than social media (as previously mentioned in this post on my new self-publishing plan). (BTW, please excuse the poor writing in that linked post. Re-reading it, the poor thing sounds like I was drunk when I typed it out, but actually it was way past my bedtime and I could hardly keep my eyes open. Silly me, I thought I could blog in that state.)
I should hear back in a few months. I’ll let you know as soon as I do.
Oh, and I’m on Lesson 18 of How to Think Sideways by Holly Lisle. Still a very good series. At this rate I should be done in about a month with it. Once I am, I’ll do a blog post on what I thought of the whole course.
