I woke up at 5 a.m. to go to the grocery store for three reasons. One, no one in this area is crazy enough to go to the grocery store at 5 a.m. It’s quiet. Two, I don’t like going late at night because it seems everyone who can’t go at a better time goes late at night and the lines stretch into the aisles. Finally, I had to get groceries. What else was I going to do?
I managed to get dressed without falling over (or back into the bed) and headed out the door. The moment I stepped outside, I stopped. The brilliant moonlight woke me up.
For a moment, I stood on our porch and looked at the low-hanging full moon in the western sky. Unlike earlier that night, I could see everything clearly, and the first thought that popped into my head was, “This would make for a great setting for a story.” The faint blue-white glow it gave the world was definitely magical. I could see fairies or vampires or werewolves moving in this light.
I couldn’t have had a better start to Good Friday. Just thought I’d share.
