It’s gorgeous right now. It’s the kind of weather that makes me glad I’m alive. The peach tree in our backyard is in bloom, the bees are starting to buzz around flowers that seemed to have appeared overnight. No wonder so many believe in magic. How could you not when spring exists?
Too bad it’ll only last a couple of weeks. After that, the Texas sun will start to burn the ground until by late July the grass that hasn’t been watered will be a patchwork of green and yellow. Mostly yellow.
This bit of good weather makes me want to do stuff, like try not to kill the henbit I caught. Or start the sequel to my previously mentioned novel (started it!). I’ve also decided to try a promotion for my short story, Master of Roads. (Here begins the small announcement.) Smashwords is having its fourth annual Read an Ebook Week next week. This means various participating titles can be anywhere from 25% off to entirely free, using the appropriate coupon code. I’ve decided to participate.
From March 4th to March 10th, if you use the coupon code RE100 at checkout, Master of Roads will cost you $0.00 (offer good at Smashwords.com only).
This is the first time I’ve tried something like this. Please feel free to email me if you encounter a problem or to tell me what you loved/hated about my story. I look forward to hearing from you.
